DPS Grads Make NFL Opening Week Rosters

The NFL is the highest level of professional football in the United States. Many players hope to go pro but few will have the chance to do so. 

The building blocks for a professional career are built in high schools across the nation. Durham high schools have helped put several former student athletes on NFL rosters across the league!

Jaylen Wright is a graduate of Southern Durham High School.

Wright brought his talent to the University of Tennessee where he played 34 games over three seasons.

Drafted to the Miami Dolphins in 2024 as a running back. 

Jordon Riley is a graduate of Riverside High School. 

Riley brought his talent to the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Garden City Community College, the University of Nebraska, and the University of Oregon. 

Drafted to the New Your Giants in 2023 as a defensive end.
