DPS Basketball Teams to Watch

As the winter season heats up, all eyes are on basketball as teams are just getting started with non-conference games early this season.

Here are some teams to watch as the season progresses and we get closer to conference play.

Boys Basketball

DSA

The Bulldogs sit at 1-8 overall and a 0-1 conference record.

Last season the Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 8-17 and a conference record of 4-10.

They did not make the playoffs last season.

Hillside

The Hornets sit at 4-3 overall and a 0-0 conference record.

Last season the Hornets finished with an overall record of 17-9 and a conference record of 6-4.

They made it to the second round of the playoffs falling at home to Knightdale.

Jordan

The Falcons sit at 5-3 overall and a 0-0 conference record.

Last season the Falcons finished with an overall record of 13-13 and a conference record of 6-5.

They made it to the first round of the playoffs falling on the road to Panther Creek.

Northern Durham

The Knights sit at 3-4 overall and a 0-0 conference record.

Last season the Knights finished with an overall record of 9-17 and a conference record of 3-8.

They made it to the first round of the playoffs falling on the road to New Hanover.

Riverside

The Pirates sit at 1-4 overall and a 0-0 conference record.

Last season the Pirates finished with an overall record of 18-10 and a conference record of 6-4.

They made it to the first round of the playoffs falling on the road to New Hanover.

Southern Durham

The Spartans sit at 4-0 overall and a 0-0 conference record.

Last season the Pirates finished with an overall record of 25-5 and a conference record of 15-0.

They made it to the fourth round of the playoffs falling on the road to Westover.

Girls Basketball

DSA

The Bulldogs sit at 1-7 overall and a 1-0 conference record.

Last season the Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 5-19 and a conference record of 4-10.

They did not make the playoffs last season.

Hillside

The Hornets sit at 1-4 overall and a 0-0 conference record.

Last season the Hornets finished with an overall record of 18-9 and a conference record of 8-2.

They made it to the first round of the playoffs falling at home to Southeast Raleigh.

Jordan

The Falcons sit at 4-3 overall and a 0-0 conference record.

Last season the Falcons finished with an overall record of 15-12 and a conference record of 7-4.

They made it to the first round of the playoffs falling on the road to D.H Conley.

Northern Durham

The Knights sit at 0-3 overall and a 0-0 conference record.

Last season the Knights finished with an overall record of 1-21 and a conference record of 0-11.

They did not make it to the playoffs last season.

Riverside

The Pirates sit at 2-3 overall and a 0-0 conference record.

Last season the Pirates finished with an overall record of 5-20 and a conference record of 2-8.

They did not make the playoffs last season.

Southern Durham

The Spartans sit at 3-1 overall and a 0-0 conference record.

Last season the Pirates finished with an overall record of 24-6 and a conference record of 17-0.

They made it to the third round of the playoffs falling on the road to Terry Sanford.
